Rabies

Rabies is a viral disease caused by a Lyssavirus (part of the Rhabdoviridae family) that targets the central nervous system (CNS). It is famous for being nearly 100% fatal once clinical symptoms appear, but also 100% preventable if medical treatment is sought immediately after exposure.
